Who Doesn't Love a Good Romance?
As well as Fantasy, Romance is always a big favourite with me (even better when you put them together). As we decide on each book, my friend seems to head towards the more romantic, rom-com type and I always seem to go for the more fantasy driven books. But that is what makes the book club great - we both get our turn to choose what to read next and we don't spend a few books in a row in the same genre. This time, it was my friend's turn to pick the next book: The Thirty Befo

Fantasy is My Home
Fantasy is one genre I will always love and always be drawn to. It takes up a lot of my 'library'. You can't really get more fictional than a make-believe world and sometimes for me it is the best escape to pretend you are in another world entirely. Which is exactly why I choose the book I did for our next book club read. The book: Lightlark by Alex Aster. I had previously seen this book a lot on social media and once I had read the blub online, I knew it was a book I would w

Now, Time for Something a Little Bit Different
During our first book club meeting, my friend and I decided what book to read next. Well, actually my friend decided - we figured it made sense to take it in turns to pick our next read. A New Year, A New Reading Goal
Every year I set up a new reading goal and I have been doing this for the last 6 years or so, using Goodreads to track the books I have read. This is something I absolutely love doing each year. I've seen people discuss the idea of setting reading goals on social media and like most things is met with mixed opinions, which is not unexpected. For me, setting a reading goal is a challenge and a way to keep me reading every year. It is not meant to be serious thing - I never exp

A Long Time Coming
As an introvert, joining a book club has always seemed like a scary thing. Although I'd be surrounded by people who share one very big interest, meeting new people is not something that comes naturally to me. It is a struggle, but joining a book club is something I'd been toying with the last few years. Recently a friend of my starting getting back into reading (which I was so happy to hear) and we had discussed several time, starting a book club, just the two of us, but had
